POSITIVE PREGNANCIES and COMFORTABLE CHILDBIRTH
with Marjorie Jane Scott
Self Hypnosis is the key for COMFORTABLE CHILDBIRTH. Learning these techniques for relaxation during pregnancy benefits the Mother and Baby while developing further the use of self hypnosis will create deep focus during the birthing process. Self hypnosis or Hypno-birthing counteracts the fear-tension-pain cycle and teaches the Mother to flow with the delivery, allowing her body to work naturally and efficiently. The Mother is relaxed, calm, fully aware and in control. Self hypnosis during childbirth shortens the time of delivery allowing for a smooth birth for the Mother and Baby. I have also found that the baby is so much more relaxed after the birth having experienced relaxation during the time in the womb. For the Mother, after the birthing process, recovery is quicker and bleeding is reduced.
I invite the partner and/or the birthing companion into the last session before birthing to familiarise them with encouraging the Mother to stay focused in the self hypnotic state. I also teach the partner and/or the birthing companion to activate specific acupuncture points with massage during contractions, which is wonderful to expel the baby and the placenta.
SELF HYPNOSIS and SHIATSU (Japanese Massage) are very powerful tools when used in conjunction with each other during pregnancy and birthing. Through gestation, Shiatsu is applied with gentle, broad pressure to assist the body in its amazing transformation to Motherhood. The Shiatsu treatment is very nurturing, allowing deep rest to permeate the expectant Mothers body and as the body re-adjusts there is an energy increase in a few days.
BREAST FEEDING
Lactation Soup (Gee Gak) - a specially prepared Chinese recipe for the
lactating Mother. The soup can be taken immediately after giving birth to assist in
recovery, also to prevent and clear mastitis, and to take through the period of breast feeding to improve/assist/stimulate the quality of the milk.
